American traditional tattoos in West Palm Beach
BOLDwill hold.
The oldest rule in tattooing is still the truest one. Heavy black outlines, a tight classic palette, zero wasted detail, work that reads from across the street and ages like it means it.
This is Clayton's foundation
American traditional is where Clayton started, and it's still the style his Wooden Heart Tattoos artist listing leads with. The rules were set a century ago by sailors who needed tattoos that survived sun, salt, and decades: a bold black outline, solid fields of a limited palette (red, green, gold, black), and imagery stripped down to what matters.
Those rules aren't nostalgia. They're engineering. Fine lines blur, pale colors vanish, tiny details merge, traditional design simply refuses all three failure modes at the drawing stage. An eagle, a dagger, a snarling dog: drawn right, it will look nearly identical in thirty years.
Classic flash or custom?
Both. Pick a classic motif and get it the way it was meant to be done, or bring an idea and have it translated into the traditional language, simplified, strengthened, and built to last. Either way, the drawing starts from the rules, not from a trend.

Traditional questions
Old rules, straight answers
Can you do a small, delicate version of a traditional design?
He can make it smaller, but not delicate. Traditional works because the lines are bold and the shapes are simple; shrink it too far and time turns it into a smudge. At the consultation you'll see the smallest size that will still hold, and why.
I want a traditional piece, but with my own subject. Possible?
That's some of the best work in this style. Almost any subject can be translated, simplified shapes, heavy outline, classic palette. Bring the idea; the drawing does the translating.
How long does a traditional piece take?
Most single traditional pieces are one session. Palm-to-plate sized work usually sits in a single appointment. Bigger or more detailed pieces get an honest estimate at the consultation.
